Your access to and use of the Services is subject to UNITING FOR ACTION’s Terms of Service (the "Terms") (https://UnitingForAction.com/terms-of-service.asp). Any capitalized terms used, but not defined in this Privacy Policy have the meanings provided in the Terms.

BY INSTALLING, USING, REGISTERING FOR, OR OTHERWISE ACCESSING ANY SERVICES, YOU AGREE TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY AND CONSENT TO THE COLLECTION, USE, AND PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA (“Personal Data”) IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY, PLEASE DO NOT VISIT, INSTALL, USE, REGISTER FOR, OR OTHERWISE ACCESS ANY SERVICES.

Privacy Policy
The following information is provided to help you understand how we collect, use, disseminate and safeguard the data you provide while accessing and using our Service.

If you have any questions about this policy, you can contact us at support@UnitingForAction.com

UNITING FOR ACTION respects your privacy, and is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected.

The first thing we do to maintain your privacy, is avoid asking you for sensitive data so that there’s no risk of this data being compromised in any way.

We NEVER ask you for your birthday, social security number, bank account data, credit card information, or any similar highly-guarded information. By not storing or asking you to transmit any of this information to our website or web servers, we avoid the most consequential privacy concerns.

If you ever initiate a financial transaction with UNITING FOR ACTION, it is done so directly with UNITING FOR ACTION’s third-party payment processor, PayPal, using PayPal’s servers, thus avoiding the storage of any of your sensitive data on UNITING FOR ACTION’s servers.

If we ask you to provide any information by which you can be identified when using our Service, you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

We do not sell or otherwise provide personal information to other companies for the marketing of their own products or services. We will retain your personal information for as long as your Account is active or as needed to provide you services or as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

We reserve the right to disclose your personal information as required by law (e.g., to comply with a subpoena, warrant, or court order) and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, avoid litigation, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, and/or respond to a government request. We may also disclose information about you if we determine that such disclosure should be made for reasons of national security, law enforcement, or other issues of public importance.

You can browse our Service, and use and Share from the Information for Action system on our Service without providing any Personal Data.

If you want to participate in the community’s collective use of the Information for Action system by Submitting, Recommending, Commenting, or Connecting Information it requires creating an Account, and providing certain Public and certain Private information to create the Account.

Public Information
The Public Information we collect is the Information that appears on your Account Profile page, which is the page you share with others to allow them to see all the Information that you’ve Submitted, Recommended, or Commented on.

In order to connect, collaborate, and take collective actions with other Account holders who share your Interests, you’re provided with the opportunity to share the following Personal Data on your public Profile page:
– First Name
– Last Name

– Headshot
– Facebook Page

We do not require that you provide any of the additional Public Information that we optionally allow you to provide.

We encourage you to share as much of the other Public Information as you’re comfortable with providing, so that users of our Service that you share interests with can find you, and you can connect and coordinate with each other.

We provide the opportunity for users of our Service to display their Zip Code as a way for people to discover other users of our Service that share local concerns and interests. This is offered as an alternative to providing a specific home street addresses. Be aware that “contact information lookup websites” on the Internet may list your name and full street address. Because of that, someone knowing your name and Zip Code and using a lookup website may be able to discover your exact home street address. We urge you to only provide your Zip Code if you feel safe and comfortable in doing so.

We provide the opportunity for you to provide your social media accounts as means for you to gain followers on your social media, and to provide an opportunity for you to have a direct communication with other users of our Service if you are both mutually interested in doing so.

Private Information
In addition to the Public Information that you maintain directly within your Account Admin, you also can also edit any of your Private Information through your Account Admin at any time, as well.

For your privacy and security, we limit the Private Information that you can provide to UNITING FOR ACTION to your:
– Email address
– Username
– Password

Your email address is used for communications with you regarding your UNITING FOR ACTION Account. We may, from time to time, send you updates about new or highlighted functionality available on our Service, or about featured issues or featured content that we think matches your interests.

You’re free to opt out of receiving additional information via email without losing your Account.

For your Username and Password, you should take the usual precautions you would with any other website that you provide such information to, such as using a different Username and Password for our Service than you use for any other websites.

UNITING FOR ACTION especially encourages you not to use the same Username or Password on our Service that you use for websites that contain sensitive or financial information, such as websites for bank accounts, credit cards, etc..

In general, using different Usernames and Passwords for different websites provides you with the security that even if your Username and Password are hacked from one website, the hackers cannot use your login information to access any of your other accounts.

Encrypted Transmission
Our Service employs SSL/TLS secure, encrypted transmission over the Internet to keep your information secure. This ensures that any Personal Data you submit to our Service will be encrypted and unreadable as it is transmitted over the Internet from your computer to our web servers. You can verify the encryption of your information by seeing that you access our Service via https:// instead of http://, and by seeing the padlock in your browser that indicates a secure connection.

Safeguarding Your Private Information
We’re committed to ensuring that your information is kept secure. In order to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure your Private Information.

Passwords are stored in an encrypted format that makes your Password completely unreadable and indecipherable to anyone. We have no ability to tell you or anyone what your password is. You can never see it, either. You can only reset it via your Account Admin if necessary.

The only time that anyone will have access to your email address or Username is when they’re being accessed by UNITING FOR ACTION staff, volunteers, or contractors for UNITING FOR ACTION business purposes.

Since our ability to maintain our trust with our Account holders is dependent on our ability to keep their information safe, secure, and private, any staff, volunteers, or contractors that we will consider giving access to any Account holder data will be vetted to secure our confidence and trust in them.

In addition, any time that we provide any staff, volunteers, or contractors with any access to any Account holder data, we will only do so under written contract with those individuals or businesses that they will maintain the privacy of the information, not copy or reproduce it in any way, and only use it for the express purpose that we give them access to it.

We will always provide the minimum amount of access to the minimum amount of data necessary for those working on our behalf to do their jobs, and we will always make every reasonable effort that we can to make sure that no compromise of our Account holder data ever occurs.

Controlling Your Personal Information
You are responsible for protecting the confidentiality of the Username and Password associated with your UNITING FOR ACTION Account. No one else may use your Username and Password. Anyone using our Service must register and use their own Account with their own unique Username and Password.

If you give anyone else access to your Account in violation of this Privacy Policy, you will be responsible for any misuse of your Account, or any repercussions from the use of your Account. You must keep your Username and Password confidential. You must notify us right away at support@UnitingForAction.com about any possible misuse of your Account or any security incident related to your UNITING FOR ACTION Account.

We Outsource Payment Data Security to PayPal
Whenever you initiate a payment with UNITING FOR ACTION, you’re directed away from our Service’s web servers to PayPal’s web servers to submit or store your payment information with PayPal. This removes UNITING FOR ACTION’s web servers from the transaction completely, and never provides UNITING FOR ACTION with any access whatsoever to any of your credit card or bank information that you provide directly to PayPal.

In this way, UNITING FOR ACTION effectively outsources all security responsibility and risk of any kind to your information to PayPal – the world leader, and trusted processor of online transactions.

UNITING FOR ACTION assumes that most Account holders will already have an established trusted relationship and account with PayPal.

If you don’t yet have a PayPal account, and wish to initiate a transaction with UNITING FOR ACTION, we encourage you to do your due diligence research to become comfortable with establishing an account with PayPal. If you aren’t comfortable with using PayPal, please contact us at support@UnitingForAction.com

We Outsource Member Connections and Communications to Social Media
Similarly to how UNITING FOR ACTION outsources all payment functions to PayPal, UNITING FOR ACTION outsources all communications functions to other social media platforms.

We assume most Account holders already have established protocols of what social media accounts they make public, and how they choose to manage or reply to direct messages through those services.

We allow Account holders to extend those protocols to our Service by providing the opportunity for Account holders to list the social media accounts they share publicly on their public Account Profile page. That way Account holders can reach out to other Account holders via their social media pages, and send direct messages via those social media pages if they choose.

Links to Other Websites
Our Service provides links to external websites. Once you click a link to an external website you will navigate directly to that external website. We have no control over any external websites. Those websites are not governed by this Privacy Policy. We cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide while visiting such sites. You should exercise the same caution with these external websites that you do with any other unknown websites. You should review those websites’ Privacy Policies if you have concerns.

Collecting this information, in combination with the subsequent visitation data generated by the share, allows us to credit the proper Account holder with the share and with the related results of the share.
